J's baby shower
Today we had J's baby shower, so of course I HAD to make her a diaper cake. Her nursery colors are light pink and brown, so I made one accordingly. I think it is my best yet. What do you think? By the way J is EIGHT months pregnant here. Unbelievable, right?

I really enjoy making these, so much so that I am thinking about selling some on craigslist or something. I don't know, you think anyone would buy them?

hmm..........what is WRONG with this picture?
Here at the W Household we try to do our FHE on Sunday nights because Monday is Hubby's late night.
Tonight we decided to 'make' -by we I mean me and by make I mean frost and decorate- a house for Halloween. I have been wanting to for awhile and we saw a kit in Wal-Mart the other day so we thought it would be fun, and easier than trying to construct one myself.
I don't know if it was an operator error or what but I am sorely disappointed about how our house turned out.
We (meaning me) were not able to do nearly as detailed work as the box promised us. And apparently I need to have some lessons in how to frost. I think it looks pretty sad. Plus it didn't help that the candy ghost was broken before I had finished piping the windows (thanks L). Just for your amusement I have posted a picture of ours and a picture of what we were trying to achieve. yeah. have a good laugh.

Stuffed Pumpkins
I am not sure what has come over me but lately I have such an overwhelming need to be creative and make things. I am very lucky to have a MIL who is the queen of crafty and is very willing to teach me anything I want to know. This week she taught me how to make stuffed pumpkins. I had a great time, and I think they turned out very cute. Plus it was super easy! I have more than these, but these are the only ones completely done.
I don't know what I will do for my next project. Any simple ideas?

The Diaper Cake Obsession Continues

This cake was actually made awhile ago, but I didn't post it yet because it was for my SIL J and I didn't want to ruin the surprise. C and J have now had their baby. SIL S helped me pick out the items and my sister J "assisted" me with assembly (read: J made the bows!) It was probably the hardest one I have made simply because we used more colors than I normally do. I was originally going to only use red and blue but the only ribbon I could find with red and blue also had white and I was not going for a patriotic cake! So we went with bright primary colors. I was getting so frustrated because it just wasn't looking right and J suggested that we switch the yellow ribbon that we had tied around the middle for a red one and that made all the difference in the world. (See I let her help!) I am actually very pleased with it now. I think my favorite cake so far was my first, the pink and green one. Probably because I want a baby girl so much!

Another diaper cake! yeah!

I told you I was making another one for my best friend T, and here it is! She is having twin boys so I made this one taller. My sisters J and B both came over to help with this one (they are going to the shower with me). I didn't let them help very much, J did all the bows (don't they look great?) She also helped roll the diapers and open packages, B opened packages and rolled a few diapers. Though to be fair to them I am SURE they would have helped a lot more if I had let them, problem is I enjoy putting it all together too much! Such fun! Can't wait to make another one! Anyone else pregnant???

More Pinata Pics
I haven't posted any more pics of the pinata because I was just layering more newspaper, but last night I did more visable work so I thought I would post updated pics. I have only done the top, still have most of it to go, but you get the idea. I also put the candy inside. Fun Fun!--By the way, I was planning on doing this in white and brown but for some reason there is no brown tissue paper to be found, I even went to a craft store and party store, oh well.

Pinata Progress
B's 1st birthday is coming up real soon and I decided that it would be fun to make a pinata for the party. I have not made a pinata since middle school, but I am still hoping that I will be able to manage it. I decided on a guitar shaped pinata, and I made the frame for it last night. Today L and I put on the first coat of paper mache, there will of course be several more to follow. Here is a picture of the progress thus far. --Also if any of you have pinata tips I would love to hear them!
