Table: before and after

We bought our kitchen table and bench for $20 and I have been wanting to paint it black forever. Today I finally got around to it and I am really pleased with the results. I have several more projects that need to be done, but it is always nice to get one actually finished!

I've been wanting to paint our wood table black as well! I've heard normal paint, then use polyurathane (2 coats). I've also heard oil based paint is better. Any tips?
